A designer will come to your home for a complimentary consultation with you.  At this consultation we will discuss what the project involves; i.e. extending the property, rewiring/plumbing, new kitchen and bathrooms, painting, new furniture, landscaping, and any other requirement you might have.

3d drawings and samples of all finishes will be shown to you to give you an accurate and understandable representation of the final look of your home.  Drawings are in full colour and from various angles including birds eye view to give you a great sense of the finished look of your home.

Detailed budgets that outline all costs involved in the project, including trades people, appliances, furniture, painting, lighting, skips, cleaning….every possible cost of the project is given to you up front in writing before the project begins.  A start and finish date and a schedule of payments will form part of your contract.

Purchasing all the elements that go into creating your dream home.  We will source everything from a huge range of suppliers; we are not being holding to any one supplier and will negotiate for the best product at the best price for you.

Hiring and managing all trades required to complete your project.  You the client have no dealings with the trades people or suppliers; we handle all of these headaches for you.  We will project manage every detail to ensure your home is a five star finish.

After the kitchen and bathrooms and all other building work are completed, we will set out all furniture both new and clients own, style and place accessories including artwork and photos and leave your home professionally cleaned and ready for you.

A TYPICAL DAY WITH 'DESIGNER FOR A DAY' :

When the designer arrives at your home you will do a walk through and discuss the design challenges that need to be resolved. Using the ‘Designer for a Day’ kit (see below) the designer will provide you with ideas and solutions.  At the end of the day you will be presented with a ringed binder that will include all drawings and notes from the day.

'DESIGNER FOR A DAY' KIT INCLUDES :

‘Designer for a Day’ will bring their laptop with a 3D full colour design program, printer and paper.  They will survey and draw the rooms.  There are many areas where these drawings can be extremely useful.  For example, for you to see the ideas in 3D virtual reality so you can see the space before it is changed.  You can be part of the design process with the designer as to the placement of furniture, storage solutions, etc.  The design program has a special function that will allow you to virtually walk through the rooms that have been drawn.  Getting quotes for kitchens, storage and wardrobes, builders, etc.  Determining what size furniture is appropriate for your rooms.

‘Designer for a Day’ will bring a full range of catalogues and brochures for every price range and taste from Argos to Roche Bobois and everything in between.  The catalogues cover all areas of the home including;  kitchens, appliances, bathrooms, lighting, furniture, rugs, internal and external windows and doors, wardrobes,  radiators, fireplaces, blinds, etc.

‘Designer for a Day’ will bring a range of samples including; timber floors, tiles for walls and floors, carpet, fabric, paint, etc.  You will be able to see what these finishes look like in your home and you will be given the name of the supplier and the cost of these items so you can purchase them yourself.

‘Designer for a Day’ will bring their tool box and miniature furniture movers.  The designer can help you to hang pictures and artwork and to re-arrange furniture in your home.
